UPMC Children’s Continues Enhancing Pediatric Care in North Central PA

WILLIAMSPORT, Pennsylvania – UPMC has expanded its specialty pediatric care services in north central Pennsylvania by offering virtual appointments with world-renowned pediatric specialists at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Starting this week, caregivers caring for pediatric patients in the north central region can coordinate a virtual telemedicine consultation for their patient with a UPMC pediatric specialist in Pittsburgh.

This service allows pediatric patients to seamlessly connect with UPMC Children’s 400+ physicians in 33 subspecialties.

“This partnership gives our patients superior access to quality pediatric specialty care,” said Ashley Pence, DO, medical director, pediatrics, UPMC in North Central Pa. “We are using telemedicine technology to offer virtual specialist care appointments where children can receive care tailored to their individual needs.”

This builds on the recent expansion of pediatric emergency medicine, allowing caregivers to consult with UPMC Children’s board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians 24 hours a day, any day of the year through real-time virtual telemedicine consultations from emergency departments to emergency departments. staff.
