Bethany Snell had her brunette locks chopped off in a sponsored event to help young people affected by cancer treatments and other conditions causing hair loss.
As well as cerebral palsy and epilepsy, Bethany’s mobility is affected on her left side, and she mainly uses a wheelchair. She also has epilepsy, curvature of her spine and learning difficulties.
But despite her own set backs, the 20-year-old student at Eckington’s Landmarks Specialist College, wanted to help others.

Bethany’s new hair do
She decided to organise a sponsored hair cut at the Serenity Hair Salon on Outram Street, Sutton, on Tuesday, May 4.
The event was in aid of the Little Princess Trust, which uses real hair to make wigs for children and young people up to 24 years of age who have lost their own hair.
Bethany has been helped with her fundraising effort by brothers Jamie and Harry, mum Donna and dad Andy.
The Snell family had called on Chad readers to get behind Bethany’s efforts back in April and already she has raised around £300 but there is more to collect yet.

Mum Donna said “Bethany thinks she looks beautiful and loves her new hair do. She is over the moon with it. She even decided she wanted to have it dyed purple.
“Claire has done a fantastic job and Bethany is already looking at other colours for when she next goes back for a trim.”
