PROVISION, RI-Providence College men’s lacrosse head coach Chris Gabrielli announced today (Oct. 29) that the program will once again partner with Vs. Cancer Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation for their annual fundraiser.

versus Cancer is a Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and their goal is to help fund children’s life programs. This year’s campaign is called ‘Changing the Game for Children with Cancer’. All money raised for this event will go directly to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI

versus Cancer was founded by Chase Jones who was diagnosed with a stage IV brain tumor at the age of 18. Jones was a Division I baseball player at the University of North Carolina. His team supported him during his treatment and raised money to support local hospitals. Thanks to national research efforts and community support, Chase has now been cancer-free for 10 years.

“Lacrosse of Providence College has been a proud supporter of Vs. Cancer for nearly 10 years, and our current and past players, parents, and all of our alumni have rallied behind this great cause, raising tens of thousands of dollars for pediatric brain tumor research and other funding for the life programs of local hospitals. We are again asking for your support as we strive to raise at least $10,000 for children battling cancer.” said Gabriel.
