Prevea to begin scheduling appointments, giving pediatric doses of COVID-19 vaccine Monday

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (WBAY) — More kids could get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine this week.

Prevea Health says it will offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 beginning Monday, Nov.

Last week, Aurora BayCare began pediatric COVID-19 injections in Green Bay, as well as Bellin Health.

Scheduling appointments for vaccinations will also start on Monday. Please do not call Prevea or use MyPrevea before November 8 to make a vaccination appointment for your child.

To make a vaccination appointment, Prevea asks you to create a MyPrevea account, which you can also do if you are not a Prevea patient. It’s free to do this. In addition, once you have created a MyPrevea account, you must also create an account for your child by requesting “proxy access” in your account. You can do this for each child for whom you make an appointment.

The second doses of Pfizer’s pediatric COVID-19 vaccine will be administered 21 days after the first dose. The second appointment will be scheduled on site during the first dose appointment.

The health care provider says that if your child turns 12 during the three weeks between dose one and two, it is recommended that you vaccinate them when they turn 12 so that they can receive the larger dose. Officials say the dosage does not vary based on the patient’s weight, but on the age on the day of vaccination.

Prevea will receive pediatric COVID-19 vaccinations by appointment at nearly the following Wisconsin locations:
