A Greenham grandpa has helped put on a celebratory smile – and some money for charity.
Steve Morgan has spread his Christmas cheer among neighboring homes to create a winter wonderland of lights and inflatables.
At the same time, he is raising money for the charity Children with Cancer UK.

“I usually do something for charity at Christmas and for the past five years I’ve raised money for the Cats Protection and Dog’s Trust by making wooden reindeer,” he explains.
“Last year we raised £1,900 and I went out to buy food with all the money and drop it off at the local rescue centres.
“The cars were filled to the brim with cat and dog food.

“But this year I thought I would change. I know all these charities are struggling, so I decided to put up a display.
“I don’t know how well it will go because I’ve never done it before.
“I commissioned three gardens – but I asked the neighbors and they were ready, which was good.
“I chose a charity that I’ve always wanted to do something for.”

Mr Morgan was joined by his family for the big switch earlier this month.
“We had a long countdown to enablement,” he added. “My grandchildren were there and they were blown away.
“When we pressed the switch, I heard everyone say ‘wow’.

“People were knocking on my door to give me donations. I’m hoping to raise around £150 and we’re already half way there.”
After the storms we experienced earlier in December, he had to tie up some inflatables in the display, but that didn’t stop people from seeing them.
Morgan said he already has plans to make it a bigger and better display next Christmas when he raises money for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
