BALTIMORE — Christmas is just around the corner….And it inspires people to give to those in need.
Here’s a look at the vacation drive through the toy store at the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital.
The 8th annual event took place this morning and the aim was to give back to children in vulnerable areas and situations.
That says one of the organizers despite the concerns about COVID-19. She knows how important the event is and told WMAR2 News about the steps the hospital was taking to make the event safe.
“We’ve decided that COVID isn’t going to stop. So we moved the “Toy Store” from the hospital campus to a drive-in. And we eventually expanded it too. So we have diapers that we hand out and wrapping paper from our community. We want to make sure make parents feel involved in gift-giving so they can wrap their own gifts.”
Patani says the ride benefited 350 families this year.
