Hours Extended For Pediatric COVID Vaccination Clinic

St Rose Parish Nurse Nancy Rhodes announces an expansion of the pediatric COVID clinic scheduled for next week.

The free walk-in clinic, originally scheduled for Thursday, December 30 from 4-8pm, now starts at 2pm.

“I’ve been able to expand our clinic to make it easier with the cold weather and housing so many 5-11 year olds,” Rhodes said via email Dec. 23.

Rhodes has been working with Griffin Health and CT Department of Public Health since early June to plan the on-campus clinics at St Rose of Lima Church. The clinics are free and open to everyone. Initially presented as vaccination clinics, they have since expanded to include adult booster clinics and now pediatric/pediatric clinics.

The most recent adult clinic, on December 17, vaccinated 266 people over a 4½ hour period. According to Rhodes, four doctors from Danbury Hospital and a team from Griffin Hospital participated.

The clinics are conducted at the Holy Innocents Faith Formation Center, 46 Church Hill Road. No appointment is necessary.

The December 30 clinic is a first and second Pfizer clinic for children ages 5-11. Those receiving their second injection should have their vaccine cards available to update.

No one will be turned away for lack of insurance or ID.
