MADISON, Erase. – A local health care provider hosted its first pediatric COVID-19 vaccination clinic for 5- to 11-year-olds on Saturday.
The vaccinations were available to the young children through the Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin MyChart portal, or by calling the vaccine schedule line at 608-662-4914.
GHC-SCW will once again host first pediatric appointments at its DeForest and Madison clinics on Saturday, November 13 and 20. More than 500 children were vaccinated on Saturday, according to organizers.
The clinics are decorated with a superhero theme, including balloons, kid-sized capes and stickers, all to ease any children’s fear.
“So it’s not so scary when our kids come in and they see the superhero theme and they see everyone dressed up and wearing capes excitedly,” said Clinical Operations Director Tiffany Pipp. “We’re really trying to figure out how to do it right and really minimize that fear for our kids.”
GHC-SCW also schedules Pfizer and Moderna vaccine booster appointments for eligible members 18 years and older.
