Hastings Prince Edward Public Health began administering COVID-19 vaccinations to five to 11-year-olds on Thursday.
The health unit did not say how many children received their first injection, but the number of vaccinations administered will appear on the health unit’s daily dashboard.
Youth clinics will be held in the two provinces, including the Quinte Sports and Wellness Center.
Public health officials would like to remind the public that there are no walk-in clinics for this age group and appointments must be booked through the provincial booking portal.
The health unit has also produced a video for families to watch to help alleviate some of the anxiety children and parents may feel about getting vaccinated.
