Drive-thru Christmas party brightens spirits of kids with cancer

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – The Richmond-based Ask Childhood Cancer Foundation held a drive-thru Christmas party Sunday to bring some holiday cheer to children battling cancer and their families.

Sticky Lights was the theme of this year’s celebration, where more than 130 families received gifts, treats and other Christmas items from the comfort of their own cars.

There was even an opportunity for a drive-thru photo with Santa himself.

“It’s great to have something to just smile a little bit and relax and have fun and forget a little bit of the more serious things he’s going through,” said one member of Everett Keller’s family. “It’s great to see other families going through the same thing.”

The Ask Foundation has been supporting and improving the lives of children with cancer for more than 40 years.
