“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Becher to Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, where his expertise in pediatric brain cancer – particularly his contribution to our understanding of genetic changes in [diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma] – will be greatly appreciated by our faculty and the families entrusted to our care,” Lisa Satlin, MD, chair of Jack and Lucy Clark’s division of pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in a press release.

Becher previously held positions in the Department of Pediatrics and the Division of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at Northwestern University. He also held clinical responsibilities at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

“I am honored to join the Mount Sinai family and the excellent collaborative environment there,” Becher said in the release. “Icahn Mount Sinai’s strengths in neuroscience, genomics and cancer research will provide fertile ground for the development of innovative clinical trials for children with cancer and hematological diseases.”
