Boston Children’s Hospital pediatrician on rising COVID-19 cases in kids

According to published figures, the number of cases of COVID-19 is increasing among children in every age group. Since October, the number of cases in children aged 5 to 14 has more than doubled. Doctors said the reasons aren’t clear, but said it could be the result of Thanksgiving gatherings or cold weather driving people inside. “I would really encourage families to be very careful about the events they participate in indoors. I would definitely mask indoors, I would definitely keep enough distance, wash your hands,” said Dr. Richard Malley of Boston Children’s Hospital. Doctors said that if possible, people should try to get rapid tests before going on vacation with the family. Doctors also recommend that more children be tested, which is finding more asymptomatic cases.
