Camp Caylor will host a benefit dinner at 146 County Road 4814 in Copperas Cove from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on May 16 for a 7-year-old Lampasas boy who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer – Ewing’s sarcoma.
About 200 children and young adults are diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma each year, according to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Band of Brothers BBQ grill plates sell for $ 10 each and include brisket or sausage, macaroni and cheese, beans, and the fixin.
There is also a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, a children’s toy raffle and multiple children’s activities.
The boy has undergone multiple chemotherapy treatments and will soon be having a leg amputated, and his mother has taken multiple leave of absence from work to accompany him to appointments in Austin.
