MADISON, Delete. – Casting for Kids hosted its third annual event on Saturday to raise money for children fighting cancer.

The event was canceled last year due to COVID-19. But now organizers and participants are returning to Madison Lakes to fish for a good cause.

Mark Osiecki, associate head coach of UW-Madison’s men’s hockey team, is the organizer of the event.

Fishing guides and celebrities participated in a catch-and-release tournament to raise money for children at the American Family Children’s Hospital and UW Carbone Cancer Center.

Casting for Kids raised more than $ 160,000 in its first two years.

The day started with an awards ceremony and happy hour at the Green Lantern Restaurant and Bar. It usually also includes a fundraising dinner and both silent and live auctions.

All proceeds will be donated to American Family Children’s Hospital and UW Carbone Cancer Center.
